I was a bit stunned to see a couple of empty windows. I haven’t seen that before.

CK still has the lumber windows but they’ve added this new one of Christy Turlington (Burns); again, the ever yoga evangelist. Great shot (originally the cover of the October 2002 issue of Vogue. shot by steven klein).
She’s still one of the best! Actually, THE best. The background texture is spot on.

What interested me most with these windows were the shadows (more notedly, the second window).

American Apparel Window Display

I like the use of the large graphic overlays on the windows.

They could have done a lot more than just simply putting a guitar in her lap.

Missoni Window Display

I like this window a lot. I don’t know who placed them but they put the mannies in great positions. They look very natural in regards to emulating real people. They’re not posing but rather engaging with one another.

Toki Doki Window Display

On West Broadway in SoHo. Very cool. I love the skateboard decks.

Ducati Window Display
Manhattan, New York;
October 16, 2009
I posted this window before. Sex Pistols. And now it has a Triumph motorcycle. Not as cool as a Ducati but it makes more sense, Sex Pistols being all English and what not. I used to have a 1958 BSA Rocket. Now THAT was a killer bike!

Walking over to Columbus Circle, I passed by this window across from Brooklyn Diner. A dress made of ties. Pretty hot. This could make a nifty Halloween costume, no? A boy can dream.

Anybody see the sun set today here in New York? Pretty intense. Very nuclear. 10 bucks if you can tell me where I was standing when I shot this.

The amazing photographer Irving Penn died yesterday. Here are a few of my favourites of his. Unfortunately, I worked at Clinique after he stopped shooting for them and so I never got to experience that. I saw several of his silver halide prints at the J P Morgan exhibit a year or so ago and, in person, they were astounding. Viewing his photos in a book or on a monitor simply doesn’t do them justice.
