Holiday 2011 Window Displays
Part two of three from Thai Pham, of Disney in Orlando, Florida.
“My second set of windows this year draws inspiration from Mary Poppins and the Lion King, but putting my own twist on them.”
“The chimney sweeps from Mary Poppins make up our first window. Using the scene of the male dancers jumping out of the chimney, I reinterpreted it with the female forms to translate back to our products that we sell.”
“Next, we have our Jolly Holiday with Mary. playing on the juxtaposition of keeping Mary in the contemporary world while her surroundings are the period illustrated in the movies. In doing this, I used props associated with the movies such as the parasol, her hat, and the penguins, etc…”
“Our third window is our accessories window, also known as our Lion King window. This time I used the mannequin forms and painted them in animal prints to represent the animals, and dressed the animals up with our accessories that we sell in the store.”
“The lighting in all windows was carefully thought out and plays an important role in recreating the atmosphere needed to tell the story.”
