Whoa. These are some seriously suggestive windows over on Madison. The image of David Agbodji on window 5 is currently raising controversy over at Houston Street (it’s replaced Eva Mendes on the huge billboard overlooking the intersection at Lafayette). Window 4, though, showing the juxtaposition of the hands unseen nude window decal against the in-store mannequin on its knees with its hands tied behind his back is much more suggestive. Violent even. I gotta imagine that they’re catching some neighborhood flack for these.

Barney’s has brought in the new year/decade with fortune cookie windows. I was a bit confused by these when I first saw them. Actually, I still am. I’m assuming that they are a tie-in with the Chinese New Year but that’s not until February 14. Also, the Chinese don’t associate fortune cookies with the new year but rather red envelopes (lai see). Perhaps Barney’s has Valentine Day windows planned and that’s why they’re doing the Chinese New Year ones now. Anyone?

A co-worker informed me that someone had tagged (graffitied) Chanel’s windows with pink spray paint and that it actually looked like the windows were designed that way. (remember Coach’s graffiti windows last season?) Anyway, I ran over there to shoot them but alas, they were already cleaned up. Well, I shot them regardless. Nothing special in regards to window design but the styles are cool. Drool away Reneenee.

And away we go. All holiday windows are down. I’ve recovered and have started up shooting again. Here are the new Bergdorf windows to kick off 2010. Neon artwork by Lite Brite Neon Studio (owned by Hasbro? I don’t know). Love the lightbulb bombs.
